How SquareBoards Works
SquareBoards is a fully automated multi-game sports platform. There are no commissioners, hosts, or moderators. You sign in, pick a game, make your picks or buy squares, and the platform handles everything else — locking, scoring, winners, and payouts.
Competition, Not Wagering
Pick'em is a global skill competition — predict winners, climb standings, and compete with players worldwide. You are not wagering against SquareBoards or other players; entry fees fund tier prize pools. Squares is a lottery-style game among participants. Random digits assign squares; winners are determined by official scores. You are not betting against the platform. SquareBoards never takes the other side of your picks — it hosts the competition and pays winners from tier prize pools.
How Pick'em Works
Every NFL week is created automatically. You choose winners before kickoff. Picks lock at kickoff, scores update from official feeds, and standings refresh in real time. Weekly winners receive automated Stripe payouts when the week completes.
Mandatory Cash-Out Accounts
Winners must connect a Stripe cash-out account so automated payouts can be sent directly — SquareBoards never holds player balances. SquareBoards charges a fixed hosting percentage on every paid entry to operate automation, official scoring, prize pools, and mandatory Stripe Connect cash-outs for winners.
Fixed Hosting Fees
Entry prices and hosting fees are fixed in platform code. No administrator, host, or commissioner can change them. Hosting fees fund platform operations, official scoring, prize pools, and automated Stripe Connect payouts. The schedule is identical across NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, Soccer, and all future game modes.
Automatic Payouts
Winners never wait on a commissioner. When a quarter, final, or Pick'em week completes, SquareBoards queues a Stripe Connect transfer automatically. Retries run until the payout succeeds or the winner completes payout setup.
Why Admins Cannot Alter Winners
SquareBoards has one platform administrator for health monitoring and technical support. All game outcomes and financial flows are fully automated. Administrators can monitor games and assist with technical issues, but they cannot edit scores, change winners, modify picks, or issue manual payouts.
Official Sports Feeds
Live scores and game results come from official league data (ESPN). Winner calculations run automatically from those feeds — no manual score entry.
Stripe Secures Payments
Stripe is the financial authority for payments, refunds, payouts, transfers, and connected accounts. Administrators monitor status only. Your card payments and winner payouts are processed by Stripe, not stored on our servers.
Guaranteed Boards
When a board reaches 85% sold, SquareBoards automatically reserves the remaining squares with platform-owned entries so the game always runs. Players never experience cancelled games due to slow fill rates.
Platform-Owned Entries
When a platform-owned square wins, winnings are never paid to an administrator. They are routed into the Platform Growth Fund to support community promotions and platform improvements.
